#TeamArmy is headed to the 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games from June 30 – July 08 in Chicago! Approximately 265 wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans representing teams from the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy/Coast Guard, Air Force, and Special Operations Command, as well as athletes from international partner nations, the United Kingdom Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force, will participate in eight sporting events: archery, cycling, sitting volleyball, shooting, swimming, wheelchair basketball, track and field.

Six wounded, ill and injured Soldiers and veterans competed in the 2017 USA Volleyball Open National Championships in Minneapolis, MN as part of Team Army. More than 400 teams traveled from every corner of the U.S., as well as Canada, Brazil and Russia, for the three-day camp and tournament.
Team Army, led by coach Linda Gomez, was one of 10 sitting volleyball squads competing. It was a great opportunity for athletes to practice for the upcoming Warrior Games in Chicago. Read the full story here.
The annual Army Wounded Warrior (AW2) training will take place in Tampa, FL from June 5-9. Approximately 220 AW2 Advocates and staff will learn the ins and outs of the Warrior Care and Transition Program, as well as learn new skills and techniques for the care of wounded, ill and injured Soldiers recovering at Warrior Transition Units. Training topics include: suicide awareness and prevention, TRICARE and social security, career planning and development, legal support, eligibility and more.
